General (Ret) Wesley K. Clark


Wesley K. Clark is a businessman, educator, writer and commentator. General Clark serves as Chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic consulting firm; Chairman and Founder of Enverra, Inc. a licensed investment bank; Chairman of Energy Security Partners, LLC; as well as numerous corporate boards including BNK Petroleum and Leagold Mining. He is active in energy, including oil and gas, biofuels, electric power and batteries, finance, and security. During his business career he has served as an advisory, consultant or board member of over ninety private and publicly traded companies. In the not-for-profit space, he is a Senior Fellow at UCLA’s Burkle Center for International Relations, Director of the Atlantic Council; Founding Chair of City Year Little Rock/North Little Rock, and Founder of Renew America Together. A best-selling author, General Clark has written four books and is a frequent contributor on TV and to newspapers.

Clark retired as a four star general after 38 years in the United States Army, having served in his last assignments as Commander of US Southern Command and then as Commander of US European Command/ Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. He graduated first in his class at West Point and completed degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University (B.A. and M.A.) as a Rhodes scholar. While serving in Vietnam, he commanded an infantry company in combat, where he was severely wounded and evacuated home on a stretcher. He later commanded at the battalion, brigade and division level, and served in a number of significant staff positions, including service as the Director, Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5). He was the principal author of both the US National Military Strategy and Joint Vision 2010, prescribing US warfighting for full-spectrum dominance. He also worked with Ambassador Richard Holbrooke in the Dayton Peace Process, where he helped write and negotiate significant portions of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement. In his final assignment as Supreme Allied Commander Europe he led NATO forces to victory in Operation Allied Force, a 78-day air campaign, backed by ground invasion planning and a diplomatic process, saving 1.5 million Albanians from ethnic cleansing. His awards include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards), Silver star, bronze star, purple heart, honorary knighthoods from the British and Dutch governments, and numerous other awards from other governments, including award of Commander of the Legion of Honor (France). He has also been awarded the Department of State Distinguished Service Award and numerous honorary doctorates and civilian honors.

He has served as a founder, director and CEO of companies ranging from defense and information technology, telecommunications and logistics across a multitude of countries. Glenn has a strong network across the USA, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, He is a board member of Studebaker Holdings Corporation, He holds a bachelors of science in International studies.

Thomas Marx

Chief Operating Officer

Tom has a broad range of experience working for a number of political leaders and institutions in multiple countries. As such, he has long since developed the skills necessary for working in challenging environments and finding solutions to problems which have exhaustive logistical and/or geographical constraints.

Throughout his career he has project managed large programs across a multitude of industries.

Tom has extensive international business experience ranging from hospitality, property, and information technology to the defense sector, and has served as a founder, director, CEO and chairperson on various boards.

Along with the Studebaker executive team he is focused on the rebirth of one of the world’s most iconic brands, and the rollout of Studebaker’s business model internationally. As a proudly South African born entrepreneur, Tom considers himself uniquely qualified to serve an executive role in Studebaker, working on its international expansion throughout the America’s, Africa and the Middle-east.

Tom is also an advisory board member to Milspec Capital, a company focused on the placement of military veterans throughout the America’s, Africa and the Middle-east.

Johann Marx

Chief Investment Officer

Johann is the Chief Investment Officer of Studebaker Holdings & Studebaker Defense Group. Johann’s focus is on defense technologies, venture capital, aggressive global fund-raising, structured startup incubation and IPO’s. As Chief Investment Officer of Studebaker Holdings and Studebaker Defense Group, Johann’s primary aim is to identify and invest in disruptive technologies that are the future of defense, intelligence and mobility solutions.

Johann seeks to develop a diversified portfolio of defense and intelligence investments in well-managed companies with disruptive business models whose primary constraint to growth is financial; this includes all facets of financial planning and modeling. Jannie Griesel

Jannie is a chartered accountant and was a 20-year executive with Griesel Nel Inc. which is a registered Audit and Accounting firm and a member of GMN International an association of independent audit and accounting firms worldwide. GMN International is represented in 69 countries, Jannie was appointed as the African Regional President in 2015 and still holds this position, he was consequently appointed to the International Executive Board of Directors of GMN International in 2015 in the United Kingdom.

He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Studebaker Africa (Pty) Ltd as Chief Financial Officer, a subsidiary of Studebaker Defense Group LLC, in May 2018, and later joined the Board of Studebaker Defense Group LLC based in the US as Chief Financial Officer responsible for the group’s global financial management.

Eddie Mienie

Dr. Mienie has more than 15 years of experience working in international relations and business, media relations, and coalition building. He earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of South Africa and received his doctorate in international conflict management while teaching and leading the academic exchange program with South Africa at Kennesaw State University. Prof. Payne is the founding Director of the Center for Cyber Operations Education at the University of North Georgia, an NSA Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense. He serves as an NSA CAE Peer Mentor and Peer Reviewer, is a member of Infragard (the FBI public-private partnership for cybersecurity) and a Director of Studebaker Cyber. He is also a tenured professor of computer science at UNG, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®️) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and holds the elite SANS|GIAC GPEN certification, among other industry certifications.

Pieter van Niekerk

Program Director Cyber Security

Pieter has previously served as Business Unit Director for Information Security Consulting for numerous international companies. Pieter has been integral to various cyber related projects on a global scale, including the development of a cyber security strategy for South Africa’s Department of Justice and Constitutional Development; the Forensic investigation and audit of major credit card and security breaches; and has acted as Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) to several financial institutions (banks, payment service providers and merchants).

Furthermore, Pieter has had a hand in designing the cyber security Target Operating Model (TOM) for a major insurance brand and has assisted them in implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS); and has even been involved in developing the Security Operations Centre (SOC) for a financial institution with more than ninety thousand endpoints. Tom is highly skilled and has previously been involved in delivering independent penetration testing and vulnerability management services to multiple data-driven businesses; and worked on producing and maintaining the security awareness program for several international entities.

Eeben Barlow

Strategic Advisor Africa

Eeben was born in Zambia and schooled in Botswana and South Africa. He became a naturalized South African citizen in mid-1960. He served in the South African Defence Force―SADF— (1974 to 1989) where he was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers and commanded the first South African airborne combat engineer troop (P-Troop) of 44 Parachute Brigade.

He served in numerous conventional and specialist clandestine and covert units, and saw action in Namibia, Angola, and elsewhere. He was the founder and chairman of Executive Outcomes (EO) from 1989 to 1997. From 1989 to 1993, he developed and presented numerous training programs on clandestine and covert operations to the South African Special Forces, and other armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

Over the period 1993 to 1997, he developed the military strategies for both the Angolan and Sierra Leonean governments, restructured their combat units, developed their training programs, and oversaw the rapid defeat of the rebel forces in both countries.

Following his departure from EO, Eeben served as a political and military advisor to several African governments (1997 to 2009). He was subsequently appointed chairman of STTEP International Ltd in 2009.

He has worked extensively across Africa advising, training, supporting and mentoring several African armed forces—as well as individual diplomats and politicians.

He is the best-selling author of two books: Executive Outcomes: Against all Odds and Composite Warfare: The conduct of successful Ground Force Operations in Africa. He has served as the Contributing Editor to Counter Terrorist magazine for a period of 5 years, and has been published in numerous local and international academic and other publications.

Eeben has served as Maj Gen in four African armies and Brig Gen in the Far East. He regularly lectures at universities and defense colleges in both Africa, and Europe. He is also a frequent speaker at political, security, and defense conferences, forums, and symposiums. He is currently the Honorary Consul to the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Principe in Pretoria, South Africa.

Robert Dowd

VP Risk & Investigation

After finishing a degree in Business Administration, and with an extensive military track record, Robert began contracting to small private intelligence agencies that utilized tactical intelligence and recruiting in domestic and foreign markets. Working in this market used and improved his skillsets in undercover intelligence collection, asset recruiting, covert surveillance, collection analysis and personal security. Training other field personnel led to management roles in the organizations and consulting for other small PIA’s and Contract Companies.

A small break in work in the defense field led to investment and management in the real estate market and other businesses in the sub-prime lending market. It was not long before he was drawn back into the Defense market when he took a position as the VP of Operations in a firearms company and launched the Security and Investigations division.

During this time, Robert also took an executive position with another defense company that worked in foreign markets and helped to develop the business, as well as strategies and run operations for the company.

In addition to training investigators and intelligence operators in surveillance, counter surveillance and covert and overt collection techniques, he has also continued his education with a vast catalog of Homeland Security course certifications, a disaster management certification, an SERE leadership certification, and HUMINT and OSINT course certifications. Robert is also a certified mobile forensic examiner.
